We are looking for an Assistant Project Manager to join our Landscape Division. This position is responsible for assisting the Landscape Project Manager in providing overall administrative and technical direction for landscape and site development projects while supporting project budgeting, scheduling, subcontractor coordination, procurement, and successful project delivery.

Essential Functions

  • Assist the Project Manager in planning, organizing, and managing landscape construction projects, field teams, and project objectives.
  • Analyze, price, negotiate, and manage change orders related to landscape, irrigation, planting, and site improvement work.
  • Represent Griffith Company by building and maintaining relationships with owners, clients, designers, landscape architects, and other project stakeholders.
  • Assist with the financial management of projects, including forecasting, job cost reports, billings, budget management, accounts payable processing, collections, and contract compliance.
  • Review landscape, irrigation, hardscape, and site improvement plans, specifications, submittals, and deliverables to ensure scope, quality, and contract requirements are met.
  • Develop, maintain, and monitor project schedules, including procurement, planting, irrigation, installation activities, weekly schedules, and monthly CPM updates.
  • Coordinate and manage all phases of landscape construction, including irrigation systems, planting operations, hardscape improvements, site furnishings, subcontractors, vendors, suppliers, and self-performed work.
  • Coordinate with Project Superintendents and Foremen to plan manpower, equipment utilization, work sequencing, productivity, and project execution.
  • Direct field activities to ensure landscape construction work progresses safely, on schedule, within budget, and in accordance with project requirements.
  • Manage subcontractors, project engineers, and assigned project staff through mentoring, delegation, performance oversight, and professional development.
  • Oversee document control, project communication, subcontract administration, and reporting activities.
  • Review project proposals, contracts, funding limitations, and project requirements to determine execution strategies and project controls.
  • Provide safety leadership and quality control oversight for landscape, irrigation, and site development activities.
  • Resolve issues involving labor, subcontractors, material procurement, deliveries, contract administration, irrigation systems, and project execution.
  • Coordinate procurement, delivery, and tracking of plant material, irrigation components, hardscape materials, and specialty site amenities.
  • Confer with project personnel, landscape architects, consultants, and owners to provide technical guidance, resolve project issues, and support successful project delivery.
  • Maintain project budgets, forecasting accuracy, labor tracking, and project cost performance.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Education

  • Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree would be preferred, or equivalent combinations of technical training and related experience.

  • Frequently required to stand and walk at construction jobsites
  • Frequently required to sit for extended periods of time

Annual Salary Range: $105,000 - $125,000.

Relocation assistance will be provided to candidates outside of the local area on a case-by-case basis.
