Contracts Assistant (LAX LAMP Project)

We are looking for a Contracts Assistant to support an exciting new $330 million dollar project we have undertaken at Los Angeles International Airport (LAX). This project is part of LAX’s Landside Access Modernization Program (LAMP) which will lessen traffic around the airport by providing passengers and employees additional transportation options to access airport facilities. 


The Contracts Assistant will support the Contract Administrator and may assist with 1 or more of the responsibilities below:

  • Procure bid documents: Obtain plans and specifications from Owner/Agency.
  • Work closely with the Estimators to determine what the bid requirements are for individual projects.
  • Bid Preparation: Process includes preparing the bid package and corresponding with our bonding and insurance companies to make sure all project requirements can be met.
  • Bid Running: responsible for physically submitting bid package to Owner/Agency when necessary.
  • Review Contract Agreements and obtain necessary bonds, insurance and authorized signatures on all required documentation related to a Prime Contract.
  • Work as a liaison between Griffith Company’s insurance agency and the Owner of a project to make sure all insurance requirements have been met.
  • Conduct Good Faith Effort documentation when required. This includes letter writing, posting advertisements, outreaching to subcontractors and keeping detailed documentation of all outreach efforts.
  • Generate, issue and administer Subcontract Agreements. This includes reviewing all correspondence concerning Subcontracts and responding as necessary.
  • Maintain subcontract status databases.


  • Must be detail-oriented.
  • Excellent organizational skills are essential.
  • Proficiency in Excel, Word and Outlook applications.
  • Must display excellent prioritizing skills and have the ability to be flexible in order to balance various responsibilities.
  • Excellent oral communication skills: Speak clearly and persuasively, respond professionally to questions and participate in meetings.
  • Written communication skills: Write clearly and informatively, vary writing style to meet needs and have the ability to read and interpret written information.
  • Must demonstrate accuracy and thoroughness under pressure and have the ability to diligently meet deadlines.
  • Must have the ability to balance team and individual responsibilities.
  • Administrative experience in a construction environment is a plus.

Relocation assistance will be provided to candidates outside of the local area on a case-by-case basis.
